How to Destroy the Pong!
“How to destoy the pong!” - Sara Barnes
Whether you've got a new dog or just have been a bit lack with the garden clearing in the dark and cold evenings we have a some advice to help you destroy the pong in your garden.
Many of us forget that whilst we clean our own bathroom and toilet at home, the garden is our dogs bathroom and toilet so it will over time need to be cleaned to stop it from getting smelly. Now most of us won't be noticing the pong at the moment, but if you wait until you smell it, and it becomes over powering then the task to get rid of that smell is so much more worse and time consuming.
If, like me you have a patio and/or fake grass then here are some tips for you:
Rinse down at least every couple of days where you dog likes to wee, this can just be water from a watering can, or why not use a dilution of kennel disenfectant which will also help with cleaning any marks away.
Scrub with a stiff brush stubborn marks, of poop or pee, use a little bit of undiluted kennel disenfectant to help lift marks and neutralise pongs.
When the weather gets a little better break out the hose pipe or pressure washer and give the patio/fake grass a good deep clean.
For fake grass, remember you should be using a brush to lift the blades of grass and help remove the debris that inevitably gathers. I have previously tried to use a old vaccum to lift out leaf and seeds from the fake grass and, yes it worked, but only was successful in dry weather. Don't use the household decent vaccum the normal user will not be impressed.
If you have real grass then you may still be in need of some diluted down kennel disenfectant to help destroy any pongs and clean up if your dog has an upset tummy. Remember to scoop the poop before you cut the grass as that way you won't be spreading it everywhere and gettign your garden tools covered in it as well.
If you don't want to de-pong your garden yourself why not book in for a weekly pick and spritz with us, we will pick up any dog waste and spritz your garden with our dilution of kennel disenfectant, so it is safe straight away for your dog to go out.
We also do a deep clean as part of the initial/adhoc clean.
If you just want kennel disenfectant then we can also help with the supply of this as well.
